Esmeraldas

Well hi to you all, as you are all by now aware we got back from the beach in one piece and have already had time to put up a few photos. So I hope you all get time to see them and if you are feeling brave maybe even leave a comment.

We decided to take this trip at a slower pace and stopped off on the way to the Esmeraldas coast line. On the way down to the beach, 3 hours from Quito, we stopped over at Puerto Quito, where you can find waterfalls and variety of wild life (For more details read Jon Ellis blog). We stayed at a hotel called Selva Virgen. Oscar chilling

Feeling refreshed after a night at the virgin jungle lodge, we head down to the beach. This is just in front of the beach house.beach

Here are the gardens outside the beach house, which made this tropical paradise so apealing.

After all that swimming Oscar had a bit of a hunger so went & caught lunch.

“Daddy lets go and boil it up!”

I think Mel enjoyed it more than Oscar.

After a big lunch you can take part in flying or take a walk down the beach to the pier.

As night falls you can watch the sunset clearly reflect of the waves. Mel & kids

Or you can do night swimming whilst listening to the frog chorus and insect life come alive.

As our holiday came to a close we decided to drive back up to the mountains and stay a night at Arasha. A little piece of heaven found not far from the north of the equator, in the rain forest. Oscar found a friend but was being cautious.

Warm almost hot pool.
