Type of Adventure: 2 Day adventure to Mindo Cloud Forest reserve, located north west of Quito.

Adventure Highlights: Crossing the equator into the northern hemisphere. Drooping out of the high Andes into the Cloud Forest, the most bio-diverse forest in the world. Swimming in amazing waterfalls. Visiting the butterfly farm.

Mindo is a reserve located north west of Quito covering more than 19,000 hectors, the reserve ranges in altitude from 1400m to 4800m the summit of Guagua Pchincha. The area is world famous for its varied bio-diversity with over 350 birds species. The lush tropical forest with its huge waterfalls makes a great area for trekking, horseback riding, mt biking, bird spotting or simple taking in the amazing wildlife. The town of Mindo is a lovely little tropical haven that has good food and relaxed atmosphere.

Day 1
08:30 - Leave Quito heading north, stop at the equator for some photos of one leg in either hemisphere.
10.00 - Start our journey into the most bio-diverse office in the world
11:00 - Arrive in Mindo, time to unpack and get ready for lunch.
12:00 - Hearty local lunch
Afternoon - Depending on the weather we have the chance to visit some amazing waterfalls, or a butterfly farm. Maybe a spot of bird watching? For those with more energy some tubing down the river?

Day 2
Today with do away with the itinerary its all up to you. With your guide an his extensive knowledge of the area you will have the chance to tailor the day to your needs. We have many options available , from a full day of trekking to ziping through the canopy on huge zip lines, to more sedate bird watching.

Mode of Transport.
We will be traveling in a fully expedition equipped Toyota Land Cruiser 4×4. The Land Cruiser is both safe and comfortable and has legendary off road capabilities. On board we carry a first aid kit, fire extinguisher, maps, tools, GPS. The vehicle will be driven by a UK trained and licensed truck/coach driver with many years of experience driving expeditions throughout Latin America.

Your guide.
This adventure will be guided and driven by a qualified mountain guide with many years of expedition experienced in Ecuador. We always provide off the beaten track type adventure with a high European standard of safety.
