Type of Adventure: Relaxing day in high Andean thermal springs, with the option of some high Andean trekking. Option of saying the night in the resort.
Physical rating: 2-4, High in the Andes (3300m) mainly relaxing in the hot springs taking in the views. Or for those with a little more energy we can go trekking

Adventure Highlights: One of the most scenic thermal baths in Ecuador with more than 3 dozen pools. Lush hill sides with views of volcan Antisana (5753m)

Papallacta thermal springs are located 70km east of Quito, the springs are situated high in the rural Andes with amazing views of the snow capped volcan Antisana. These springs are are set in the lush Andean hillsides where you can see hummingbirds feeding on the trumpet flowers. The design of these springs is in keeping with surrounding area and really makes you feel comfortable. There are 3 dozen hot pools and a mountain cold natural stream to cool down in. There are also trekking trails from 45mins to 4hrs. Papallacta has the option of spa treatments.

Approximate itinerary. We are flexible to your needs…

08:30 - Leave Quito via the old town of Guapulo with its colonial white washed houses and 16th century church, time to stop for some amazing photos.
10:00 - Leaving Quito behind we head into the valley and then up into the eastern Andes where the the landscape turns in to high Andean Paramo.
11:00 - Time for some easy trekking on the market trails around Papallacta hot springs - Or head straight to the springs, you choose?
12:30 -Fresh lunch
13:30 - Time to relax in the magical hot springs of Papallacta
16:00 - Head back to Quito after day of relaxation.

Mode of Transport.
We will be traveling in a fully expedition equipped Toyota Land Cruiser 4×4. The Land Cruiser is both safe and comfortable and has legendary off road capabilities. On board we carry a first aid kit, fire extinguisher, maps, tools, GPS. The vehicle will be driven by a UK trained and licensed truck/coach driver with many years of experience driving expeditions throughout Latin America.

Your guide.
This adventure we be guided and driven by a qualified mountain guide with many years of expedition experienced in Ecuador an Latin America. We always provide off the beaten track type adventure with a high European standard of safety.

What’s included?
