Why Ecuador?
Ecuador is the most bio diverse country in the world. With just over 28,000 hectares (69,000 acres), an amazing 26% of the entire country is designated as protected land by The World Conservation Union. In one day in Ecuador, you can summit a 4,800 meter peak to watch the sunrise over the Andes, eat lunch in the cloud forest, and surf in crystal clear waters in the evening. Of course, there’s also the Amazon Basin jungle, world-renowned birdwatching, extreme sports galore, exceptional conservation volunteer opportunities, and just about anything you’d expect from the adventure of a lifetime.
Where did it start?
While working with tour companies in South America for the last 5 years, we became increasingly aware that everyone offered the same cookie cutter adventure. We felt we could offer something different: an adventure catered to the individual needs of each traveler, using our extensive local knowledge and uncompromising dedication to client satisfaction. We decided to inject a new lease of life into expedition style adventures and allow you, the adventurer to plan your trips, guided along the way by Overland Latin America.
What makes us special?
We always run personally tailored expeditions keeping them as flexible as possible, making sure you get to see and feel the real Ecuador. With our fully equipped 4×4s we can get right off the beaten track, allowing you to explore some amazing locations.
We can cater for every type of adventure from climbing mountains to exploring hidden beaches, from jungle trekking to city tours (we know the local gems too if you want to see something a little extra!).
Our expeditions are lead by a British trained mountain leader with many years of experience in Ecuador and our activities can range from surfing to bird-watching and mountaineering. We have a list of previous expeditions that may well give you the inspiration you need to plan your ultimate adventure.
Who comes on our tours?
Ecuador has something for everybody and we cater for all ages and all levels of experience. If you have a family bring them along we have lots of experience catering for families with young children, it’s not a problem. We want you to love Ecuador as much as we do.

What else do we offer?
You can also rent one of our vehicles for the day, week or even months. This will allow you to be completely independent and explore in your own time. Your vehicle will come equipped with maps, first aid kit and cell phone.
If you are here a little longer then you may well think about buying one of our vehicles on our buy back scheme. As fully trained mechanics we can source any type of vehicle for all budgets and help you with all the paper work. Alternatively we can inspect a vehicle that you have sourced and advise you whether we feel it’s a good buy or not. Whether you are planning an expedition around South America or are living in Ecuador for a few months we have the experience and knowledge to make sure you get the best out of your time here.
