AIR TRANSPORTATION

Confirm your flight 48 hours before departure, please see flight prices for Ecuador & Galapagos Islands. ATM's are only be found on Isla San Cristobal and Santa Cruz Island. You will have access to an ATM only at the beginning and end of your adventure with OLA . Most ATMs accept international ATM cards..

BAGGAGE

We recommend you take a light soft bag to the Galapagos Islands as of space on the plane, you will only need the essentials in clothing and personal items . A duffel bag works best as it can be stored into a small drawers or closet on you chosen Galapgaos yacht. On flights to Galapagos you are allowed a maximum of 20 Kg (45 pounds) of luggage (excluding your hand-luggage this might be a uesfull list that we have put togeather OLA Galapagos luggage list).

BANKS AND BANK HOURS

Banks are open to the public from 9:10 hrs to 16:45 hrs. Most banks in Galapagos will allow you to make a transaction with your National or International bank.

BEST TIME TO VISIT GALAPAGOS

Galapagos Islands can be visited all  year around, the warmest season is from December to May when you get the most hours of clear skies please see more information on Galapagos seasons  . Clear skies does not guarantee the best wildlife show on the islands due to the strengh of the sun. Divers, the best time to visit the Galapagos Isalnds is from June - November. During these months, the water temperature is the cooler but there's much better odds of seeing larger schools of hammerheads sharks.

CLIMATE

Galapagos has a subtropical climate regulated by the cold Humboldt current and the warm El Nino current. Weather varies during the year. December until May temperatures range  80°s to low 90°s (with possibilities of rain). From June to September temperatures vary from low 60°'s to high 70°'s. Garua season (mist in the mornings). From October until December temperatures range from 70°s to 80°' (dry season).

COMMUNICATION FACILITIES

Galapagos boats,  can help you make calls home as a visit Puerto Ayora can prove usfull. Check your boat's itinerary links to see on what day you will visit Puerto Ayora or other major islands.

CURRENCY

Galapagos is the same as that of mainland Ecuador: the US Dollar the Sucres was fased out in 1999 but our President may bring it back at some time.

CUSTOMS

Galapagos  does not have  a big problem with customs since there are no international airports ,your personal luggage will receive a slight inspection for things like fruits or seeds that might be introduced to the islands.

DOCUMENTS REQUIRED

Ecuadorian Immigration regulations, every for foreign passengers entering the Country  they must have a passport with them at all time  time validity of at least 6 months from the day of arrival to Ecuador.Ecuadorians can travel with just their Cedula.
